Hubei TV Economic Channel
Hubei TV Economic Channel, whose predecessor is Hubei Economic TV Station, was set up on December 1, 1988. It was then the first TV station in the country with the name of economic TV station, a provincial TV station with the capacity of an independent legal person.
HTV-Economic Channel, born as the momentum of the country's reform and opening to the world, has been expanding with the growth of the market economy. The guideline for its operation has been "by taking the production of programs as the key occupation, deepening reform and strengthening management so as to ensure steady development". Following this guideline, it has been unceasingly carrying on structural reform, technical innovation and renewal of programs. It now runs such regular programs as "ETV News", "Ordinary Folk and Civil Servant", " In Fashion", "Draft Proposal and Follow Up", " Movie and TV Reports" and "Life Story". These programs are gaining popularity from the audience.
Statistics given by the survey conducted by both CCTV-S---Mass Media Research Company and AC Nelson Mass Media Research Company show that ratings for Hubei TV Economic Channel have remained constantly at the top in Wuhan for several years. It broadcasts 24 hours a day covering the whole Hubei province. Its revenue has stayed for years solidly above 100 million yuan, and revenue for one single channel ranks first in Hubei's TV broadcasting industry.
In addition to producing regular TV programs, Hubei TV Economic Channel is also actively involved in the production of movies and TV plays. Its productions include a movie - "Dream of a Century", TV plays - "General Xu Haidong", "Breakthrough in Central China"; and a theoretical special - "The New Fourth Army". These films and TV plays won the national "Five Ones Project Award", "Golden Eagle Award" and "Sky Flier Award". The News programs are also winners awarded by Hubei Province and the State Film, Television & Broadcasting Bureau.
Being determined to upgrade the station, Hubei TV Economic Channel has installed a virtual studio, which is up to the world advanced level by its own technical capability. The company possesses the modern techniques and skills for the production of TV programs. It has set up a video frequency station and has a whole set of advanced equipments capable of shooting, recording, editing, broadcasting, transmitting and sending signals.
